Bobby Peek

Bobby Peek is Director of groundWork, Friends of the Earth, South Africa, and a winner of the 1998 Goldman Environmental Prize. His interest in enviro... morenmental social justice activism was triggered by the first-hand experience of the negative health impacts felt by people living on the fenceline of south Durban’s Engen oil refinery in the 1990s. Bobby serves on the International Board for the Global Greengrants Fund; advises on various national and international environmental justice strategies; and serves as a Commissioner on the South African Presidential Coordinating Committee on Climate Change.
