Chelsi West Ohueri is an assistant professor of Slavic and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin with appointments in Anthropology, Af... rican and African Diaspora Studies and Population Health. She is a sociocultural and medical anthropologist who has conducted extensive ethnographic research on race and racialization, belonging, and inequality in Southeast Europe. She recently completed an ethnographic book about race in Albania. You can find her research and writing in such journals as Medical Anthropology, Slavic Review, and Gender, Place, and Culture.
