Protest is the best tool we have to enact positive change. We need better protections for peaceful protesters.
Payu Boonsophon
Payu Boonsophon is an environmental activist from Thailand. He became an activist whilst at university. He now works as an officer at the Legal Center... for Human Rights in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. He was formerly at the E-san Land Reform Network (Kor Por Aor), which advocates for the fundamental rights of landless farmers who are made even more vulnerable by land-grabbing perpetrated by the state. In 2022, Payu attended the Ratsadon Stop APEC 2022 protest, where he was shot in the eye with a rubber bullet by a police officer.
